It is a minimally-invasive procedure that works using laser light to kill bacteria in the pockets of the gums, leaving only healthy tissue intact. LANAP® has been approved by the FDA and has been researched thoroughly. We are very pleased with the results that this provides our patients and hold it in high regard for the treatment of gum disease.
X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems. Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problematic can save you money in the long run. At Martin Periodontics, we use digital x-rays, which have several advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5th the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.
Large on-screen x-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.
Our 3D imaging system, or cone beam computed tomography (CT) unit, is essentially a digital x-ray tool that is mounted to a rotating arm. Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. Dr. Martin and Dr. Prabhu use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are processes where a portion of the patient's own blood is optimized with specific techniques to promote faster healing of areas of the body.
