Meet Dr. Prabhu “Although I'm (relatively) new to the Cincinnati area, I'm no stranger to the Midwest. I grew up in Iowa and Illinois, and attended universities in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. I mention this because my Midwestern values are important to me; I work my hardest to ensure that my patients receive the finest available treatment and that they always feel respected and cared for. During my undergraduate years, I was fortunate to work as an assistant at a periodontics practice for nearly a year. It was during this time that I first realized the passion I had for dentistry and the important role periodontists play in patient care and oral health. It was also during this time that I realized: periodontics was the field for me. From there, I earned my Doctorate in Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. After that, I completed my specialty training in periodontics and advanced implantology at Indiana University, and earned a Master of Science in Dentistry degree before joining private practice here at Martin Periodontics. I love my job because I get to work with and help patients of all ages and backgrounds. But no matter the patient or the treatment required, I always provide a gentle touch and take the time to listen to and understand the concerns, challenges, and needs of my patients. I strive to be calm and receptive, and to always focus on building fulfilling relationships with my patients. After listening to and examining my patients, I create individualized therapies and treatment plans that will support them on the path to dental health and having a smile they can feel great about. In addition to caring for my patients, I am also co-director of three Seattle Study Club branches, where I regularly lecture and lead sessions alongside Dr. Martin in order to provide education to local dentists and dental hygienists. Outside of the practice, I love exploring the Cincinnati area, spending time with family and friends, keeping up with the latest movies, traveling, and experimenting with recipes on my never-ending quest to cook like my mom. I also love animals and enjoy spending time with (and spoiling) my miniature dachshund, Lucy. I look forward to meeting you!” — Vidya |
